No bread, all circus

This refers to the letter ‘Fair sports funding’ by Khalid Mustafa (August 20, 2024). In Pakistan, cricket has not been promoted properly for many years. Since the revival of cricket matches against foreign teams, the residents of the cities where matches are played have suffered considerably due to traffic jams on account of the strict security arrangements.

Authorities ignore the protesting voices and seem to want to divert the attention of the people away from the many problems facing the country and towards these matches.
