Shown up by Maryam
An announcement made by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to reduce per unit prices of electricity by Rs14 per unit on a temporary basis has created a storm in a tea cup and put all other provinces in a fix. Sindh has reacted the most, with nearly all its senior leadership directly or indirectly commenting on the issue, defending themselves by highlighting the progress their government has made in different fields. However, the claimed developments are benefiting only a limited segment of society whereas the reduction in the electricity tariff would improve the lives of nearly all the poor and middle-class people of Punjab. Those criticizing Maryam Nawaz are belittling themselves. If you cannot replicate another’s success then it is better to be quiet.
