Joint efforts for country’s betterment urged
LAHORE:Different departments on Wednesday held ceremonies to mark the 77th Independence Day. Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) head office organised a flag hoisting ceremony which was attended by Managing Director (MD) SNGPL Amer Tufail. In his speech on the occasion, MD SNGPL urged the employees on working as a unit for betterment of the country and development of the company.
MD praised the role of Quid-i-Azam M Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal in independence of Pakistan. Later, MD SNGPL Amer Tufail planted sapling as well. The ceremony was also attended by Senior Management of the Company and employees.
With a view to celebrating Independence Day with national fervor, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at Wapda House Lahore. Wapda Member (Finance) Naveed Asghar Chaudhry accompanied by Member (Power) Jamil Akhtar hoisted the National Flag at Wapda Auditorium.
The hoisting of flag was followed by the National Anthem, sung by the students of Wapda Girls Higher Secondary School Chashma, who especially came to Lahore for participation in the ceremony.
As part of Independence Day celebrations, a huge National Flag, measuring 100 feet X 40 feet and weighing 180 Kilograms has also been displayed at Wapda House in addition to illuminating the building. NTDC celebrated the 77th Independence Day of Pakistan with great enthusiasm and traditional zeal at all NTDC grid stations across the country. The flag hoisting ceremony took place at the TSG Training Centre, New Kot Lakhpat Lahore. The chief guest, Deputy Managing Director (AD&M) Engr Rasheed A Bhutto and Deputy Managing Director (SO) Engr M Waseem Younas and General Managers unfurled the national flag in a solemn ceremony. While addressing the ceremony, Deputy Managing Director (AD&M) NTDC, Engr Rasheed A Bhutto paid rich tribute to the sacrifices made for the creation of Pakistan and said that this occasion is a moment to reaffirm our pledge to continue pursuing the vision of the Father of the Nation.
General Manager (Technical) Engr Dr Khwaja Riffat Hassan, expressing his views, said that today ‘we have to reaffirm to follow the guidelines of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and young generation has to realize their responsibilities for the development of the country.’
