PESHAWAR: The Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Friday joined hands to promote a drug-free environment at the educational institutions across the province.
HERA Chairman Sharif Hussain and ANF Regional Directorate Commander Brigadier Mazhar Hussain signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the purpose.The MoU was signed after a meeting of senior officials from both sides. Apart from Sharif Hussain and Brigadier Mazhar Hussain, the meeting was attended by Kamran Afridi, Secretary to the KP government for Higher Education, Archives and Libraries Department, Higher Education Commission Director General Nasir Shah, HERA Secretary Sajid Inam and other officials. A communication said the primary focus of the MoU was to foster collaboration between HERA and ANF to promote a drug-free environment in educational institutions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The MoU outlined the framework for cooperation, aiming to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse among students and faculty in public and private universities, degree-level colleges and student hostels.
