PEF to transform its monitoring, evaluation system
LAHORE:The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) held a focused group discussion at the Children's Library Complex here regarding the transformation of the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system into a Mentoring and Support system.
The purpose of this discussion was to provide guidance to PEF partners on improving enrolment, infrastructure, teaching quality, staff development, administration, leadership, and the overall quality of education in schools.
During the meeting, Director M&E, Zubaida Muslim Ali, briefed the PEF partners in detail on all these aspects. Addressing the gathering, the PEF MD appreciated the efforts of PEF partners in the field of education, emphasising that they are the driving force behind the public-private partnership model. He noted that, thanks to the efforts of PEF partners, over 2.7 million children are receiving free and quality education under the PEF umbrella. He stated that the PEF administration has decided to completely transform its Monitoring and Evaluation system. This new system will help identify and address the issues faced by partner schools and guide them in improving educational standards. The M&E Officers of PEF will be re-designated as Mentoring and Support Officers. Additionally, a digital monitoring mobile application will be launched soon, through which student attendance will be monitored. Only those students whose photographs match with PEF’s Student Information System (SIS) will be marked present.
The MD PEF also mentioned that, under the directives of the CM, the provincial education minister, and the Secretary of School Education, timely payments are being made to PEF partners. Furthermore, in the current financial year, the fees provided to PEF partners per child will see a significant increase, as directed by the Punjab government.
