Two siblings drown in Khanpur canal
HARIPUR: Two children drowned in the canal of Khanpur dam, police and hospital sources said here on Tuesday.
The Khanpur police quoted witnesses as saying that a family of Afghan refugees from Mardan had moved to Muhallah Rajgan in Khanpur to spend a few days with their relatives.On Tuesday afternoon the family went for a picnic to the left bank canal of Kahnpur Dam exactly opposite the Khanpur police station when three minor boys jumped into the water and drowned.
The local divers took three boys out of the water and shifted them to Khanpur Hospital where the doctors pronounced two brothers dead while their cousin survived. The deceased were Sameer 10, Abubakar 8, sons of Feroz Khan.The child who was rescued was identified as Ehsan Ullah 9 son of Aman Ullah.
