Unsubstantiated criticism
In today’s legal landscape, the Supreme Court assumes a paramount role in the nation’s advancement and democratic structure by addressing numerous pending cases concerning political and electoral matters, many of which have been adjudicated. Serving as the ultimate avenue for aggrieved parties, the SC ensures that disputes are resolved through judicial pronouncements and orders. There is a widespread belief that a judge’s competence, integrity, and intellect are commended when rulings favour a party. Conversely, unfavourable decisions often attract criticism. These perceptions persist despite judgments being based on available evidence and documentary material on record. The constitutional framework essential for the efficient functioning of the judiciary should not be hindered by unsubstantiated arguments.
