ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Wednesday announced public meetings after Muharram even if NOCs are not issued.
The public meetings would be held for the release of PTI’s founder Imran Khan, supremacy of the Constitution and against inflation and lawlessness.
Speaking at a news conference here along with former chief minister Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Khalid Khurshid Khan, PTI Information Secretary Raoof Hasan said the PTI founder had to write to the Chief Justice of Pakistan because the latter as well as the IHC chief justice had not recused themselves from hearing cases related to the PTI and its leaders.
Raoof alleged the state apparatus was being used to keep Imran Khan, who had already been acquitted in three out of four cases against him, in jail.
Speaking on the occasion, Khalid Khurshid criticized the government decision to empower spy agencies to intercept and record citizens’ phone calls and messages. He said the practice had long been continued, but this had provided a legal cover for it.
He made it clear that the PTI was being denied NOCs for a year, but now they did not need any NOC from the mandate thieves, as they did not accept their invalid writ under any circumstances.
