Data Darbar Ghusl ceremony on Muharram 9
LAHORE:Urs celebrations of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA) will begin with the Ghusl of the Darbar on Muharram 9.
Federal and provincial ministers and government dignitaries will attend Ghusl ceremony, said Punjab Auqaf DG Khalid Mahmood while chairing a meeting held to review arrangements for 981st annual Ghusl of the Darbar.
He said foolproof security and better facilities will be ensured for Urs. He said main roads of Data Durbar will be free from encroachments and better lights, cleanliness and sewerage facilities shall also be ensured. He said male visitors will enter from Gate No 1 and 5 while female visitors will enter from Gate No 4.
The security agencies will ensure monitoring of Urs events with the help of CCTV cameras, metal detectors and other modern gadgets. Food Authority staff will be responsible for checking foods (Langar) under a special mechanism.
He said the volunteers, media representatives and other service providers shall be issued special passes. On the occasion, a Lesco officer told the meeting that Data Darbar vicinity and its adjoining areas will be exempted from load shedding for two days during the Urs celebrations.
