UHE upgraded building inaugurated
LAHORE:The newly-upgraded building of the Department of Sociology and Gender Studies of the University of Home Economics (UHE) Lahore was inaugurated by Rana Sikandar Hayat, Minister for Higher Education Punjab, here on Monday.
The event was attended by Prof Dr Faleeha Zahra Kazmi, Vice Chancellor, Shujaat Muneef Qureshi, Registrar UHE, along with faculty members and students. The minister visited the newly-established classrooms and other facilities which are housed in an upgraded building. In her address, Prof Dr Faleeha Zahra Kazmi highlighted the establishment of state-of-the-art classrooms for MPhil and PhD students within the building.
Speaking to the media, the minister announced that Home Economics would also be introduced to school girls, with the HED planning to sign an MoU with Home Economics University. In a generous move, he announced 10 scholarships from his personal funds for the UHE students. He assured that the Punjab government would provide funding to Home Economics University.
