DIR/ MINGORA: Five persons were killed and 11others sustained injuries in two separate road accidents in Upper Dir and Swat districts on Tuesday.According to local police and Rescue 1122, three persons were killed and seven others injured in a road accident at Patrak area of Upper Dir.
They said that Haji Khan Bahader Khan was traveling along with his children and grandchildren from Patrak to Banan Khalila area when his car fell into a ravine at Doogal area.The Rescue 1122 district spokesperson, Muhammad Ibrahim, said that three children died on the spot, while Haji Khan Bahader and five others were injured in the incident.
The injured were shifted to the local hospital in Patrak from where two of them were referred to Peshawar owing to their serious condition.Meanwhile, a woman and her minor son were killed while four other persons sustained injuries when a three-wheeler fell into a gorge in Matta tehsil of Swat district.
Police officials said the driver lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a turn and the speedy auto-rickshaw fell into the ravine in Kamalay area in Matta. As a result, a woman and her 9-month-old son died on the spot while four persons sustained injuries. The injured were taken to the hospital.
