Anti-dengue walk held
Rawalpindi: On World Dengue Day, the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) Rawalpindi celebrated with an event focused on anti-dengue efforts. A walk was held outside Liaquat Bagh to raise awareness among the public.
The event was attended by officers and staff, including Managing Director Saleem Ashraf and Director Admin Wasa Umar Farooq.
The Managing Director (MD) of WASA emphasized the importance of joint efforts between institutions and the public to prevent dengue. He highlighted the loss of precious human lives due to dengue and stressed the need for collaborative action.
The MD mentioned that WASA has been actively engaged in anti-dengue activities within its jurisdiction. This includes cleaning offices, roofs, and warehouses. WASA Rawalpindi has also initiated efforts to address water leakages as part of dengue prevention measures.
To prevent dengue, water around tube wells is being controlled, and efforts are in place to keep the valve chamber of the tube wells dry. Employees have been instructed to maintain clean offices and ensure that water does not collect on the roofs, as directed by the Wasa MD.
