Michel Owen inaugurates stadium in Karachi
KARACHI: Pakistan Football League (PFL’s) global ambassador and former English striker Michel Owen inaugurated Dr Ziauddin football stadium in Clifton on Wednesday.
Michael Owen said on the occasion that he is delighted seeing the state of art stadium. He hoped that newly built football stadium would play an important role in the promotion of football matches and competitions in the future.
He said that football is most popular sport in Pakistan and younger generation and children took interest in the game. Later Michael Owen went to Kakri Football stadium in Lyari and saw a friendly football match between Karachi Combined XI and Lyari Tigers. Later Michael Owen distributed football kits among local footballers. On this occasion , provincial sports minister Muhammad Bux Mehar was also present.
