Ex-MPA claims innocence in murder case
CHARSADDA: Awami National Party leader and former Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Shakeel Bashir Khan on Tuesday said he was nominated in a murder case on trumped-up charges on February 08.
Speaking at a press conference here, he said the mother and wife of the deceased had submitted an affidavit in the court absolving him of the murder charge. He said the submission of the affidavit absolving him of the murder charge was a proof of his innocence. He said a boy identified as Ammad was killed in a firing incident at a polling station on the election day in Umarzai area in Charsadda district. Shakeel said the family of the deceased boy had nominated him and his two brothers in the first information report at the behest of their opponents. He said that he and his brothers were not present at the place of the occurrence. He said the CCTV footage, election staff and other witnesses were available on record to prove their innocence. He said that the family of the deceased had admitted that they were wrongly nominated in the case.
