More red tape

Students will now reportedly only be allowed to study in foreign medical colleges with issuance of an NOC from the PMDC. On the face of it, this looks good after what happened in Kyrgyzstan. In reality, this is an unwelcome step as the PMDC is already overburdened. This NOC might also be against fundamental rights. The PMDC should not be allowed to intervene to increase the financial and red tape burden on our students wishing to study abroad. We already have too many bodies to oversee medical education without much improvement in outcomes and transparency to show for it.
