Elders oppose Hangu VC inclusion in Karak

PESHAWAR: Elders on Tuesday asked the government to take back the decision to include a Hangu village council in the Karak district.

The demand was made when a delegation met Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Revenue and Estate Nazir Ahmad Abbasi. Member of Provincial Assembly from Hangu Shah Abu Tarab Bangash led the delegation.

A member of the Board of Revenue and other relevant officials were present at the meeting, said a handout. The delegation informed the minister that the village council of the Hangu district consisting of two villages had been included in the Karak district due to which the residents there were facing problems.

The elders said the village council was near the Doaba tehsil of the Hangu district. It was pointed out that the village council was more than 80 KM away from the Karak district headquarters while 14 KM from Doaba tehsil headquarters.

The minister assured the delegation of solving the problem and said that the Revenue Department had no objection to the inclusion of said village council in Hangu district, but the rejoining Hangu could be done only with the approval of the KP cabinet.He sought to prepare a complete case and submit all the necessary documents with the application so that the village council could be included in the limits of the Hangu district.
