Islamabad:Dr. Shaukat Hameed Khan, former Member Planning Commission and renowned professor of Physics has stressed the importance of science and technology in education arguing harnessing the command in science and its allied subjects by the future generation is the key to success of the country.
He stated this while addressing the students of Kauthar College for Women, H-8/2 here in Islamabad the other day. An enlightening educational session was held on since and education. The session aimed to address the current state of science and education in Pakistan, highlighting challenges, opportunities, and the way forward.
Dr Khan also known for his understanding in spark gap and plasma-induced Lasers in ionised environment commenced his address by emphasising the critical role of science education in the development of any nation. He underscored the importance of fostering a scientific temperament among the youth and integrating innovative teaching methodologies in educational institutions
After the thought provoking address, an interactive cession continued for while during which students and faculty members engaged with Dr. Hameed. Questions ranged from how to practically implement suggested reforms to the role of women in science and technology in Pakistan. Dr. Hameed provided insightful responses, encouraging students to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields and stressing the importance of gender equality in education.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks from the vice principal of Kauthar College for Women. She expressed gratitude to Dr. Shaukat Hameed for his inspiring and thought-provoking presentation. The event was deemed highly successful, leaving the attendees motivated to contribute positively to the field of science and education in Pakistan.
