FDE seeks application from govt employees on deputation
Islamabad:To address staffing needs of public sector schools and colleges in the federal capital, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has initiated a process to seek federal and provincial government employees on deputation.
The FDE is currently utilising the portal of the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) for this purpose, according to officials. They told 'The News' that the deputation drive was meant to address staff shortages. "Interested employees from federal or provincial government service can register themselves online via the designated portal provided by the FBISE. The registration link, available at https://tech.fbise.edu.pk/fde, enabled candidates to submit their applications conveniently," an official said.
He said candidates passing a written test would be called for interviews. Officials said previously, the FDE utilised the FBISE's portal for the recruitment of elementary school teachers. They said as part of the education emergency plan, the education ministry was committed to providing 1,250 teachers to benefit 43,750 students across its institutions, ensuring a student-to-teacher ratio of 35:1.
"Of these teachers, 383 will be appointed through deputation, while 130 teachers will be recruited via the Federal Public Service Commission," an official told 'The News'. He added that the recruitment process for an additional 500 teachers would be finalised in the next few months. "The ministry aims to enhance the learning experience of students by posting additional employees to their schools and colleges," he said.
