‘YDA postpones long march till 18th after talks with govt’

MULTAN: The Young Doctors Association has postponed its long march and besiege of the Punjab Assembly building that was scheduled for May 11 after a meeting with the Punjab government representatives.
Talking to The News here on Monday, YDA Multan president Dr Kabir Ahmad said that the Punjab government in a meeting with the YDA delegation led by Punjab president Dr Ajmal Chaudhry had reached a consensus on resolution of doctors’ demands in three-four days. He said that the government would form a special committee to work on special pay scales for the doctors. Dr Kabir said that the next meeting between the Punjab government and the YDA would be held today in Lahore. He said that the YDA had postponed its long march till May 18, keeping the positive response by the government in view.
