Lahore police yet to identify 7,772 suspects linked to May 9 incidents

LAHORE:Lahore police continue to grapple with the identification of 7,772 unknown suspects linked to the incidents of May 9.Challans of 14 cases of terrorism, including the Jinnah House attack during the May 9 tragedy, have been finalised.

Police records indicate that 1,061 named accused were involved in these terrorism cases, with 1,058 already apprehended and two arrests pending.Meanwhile, in various cases of vandalism, at least 7,772 individuals remain unidentified. Notably, all 558 accused persons named in the primary Jinnah House attack case have been apprehended, while efforts to arrest the remaining 1,500 unidentified suspects linked to the attack are ongoing.Furthermore, 64 suspects involved in the Jinnah House attack have been transferred to the Pakistan Army, with the case’s challan submitted to Terrorism Court No. 1.
