PHDA, FPCCI discuss halal business sector
LAHORE: Regional Chairman of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Mian Rehman Aziz said that Punjab Halal Development Agency (PHDA) was playing a noteworthy role in the development of the halal business sector of Pakistan.
In a meeting with Justice (retd) Khalil-ur-Rehman Khan, Chairman, PHDA, on Monday, Rehman Aziz said that PHDA was making numerous efforts for developing Pakistan as the hub of halal food and branding its products in the international markets.
Khan said that PHDA’s mission was to promote compliance of prescribed halal standards and certification systems in the light of the Shariah advisory services. He said government and private sector should support and encourage the PHDA as it was the only platform to facilitate halal food certification in Pakistan.
