ISLAMABAD: The International Markets Development Division (IMDD) of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and the High Commission of Pakistan in Rwanda hosted a webinar on "Exploring the African Market - Rwanda", attracting over 100 participants from various sectors in both countries.
Pakistan's Ambassador to Rwanda, Naeem Khan, emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral trade relations, highlighting potential cooperation in sectors such as agri-machinery, sports goods, and pharmaceuticals.
Deputy Head of Mission, Asim Ali Khan, informed participants that bilateral trade volume is expected to reach $100 million, thanks to concerted efforts by the High Commission, TDAP, and the Ministry of Commerce. Rwanda's decision to open an embassy in Islamabad is also expected to strengthen diplomatic ties.
During the interactive session, participants discussed topics such as product interest, visa requirements, customs duties, and business tourism prospects. Khan reiterated Pakistan's commitment to supporting companies seeking to do business and export to Rwanda.
TDAP and the High Commission plan to participate in the Rwanda International Trade Fair (RITF) from July 25 to August 15, aiming to foster collaboration and explore opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships between Pakistan and Rwanda.
