US team vows to help raise funds for charity
PESHAWAR: A US delegation on Tuesday visited the Frontier Foundation Hematology Services Hospital and met with thalassemia fellows. Jack Haye and his spouse Carol Haye led the delegation consisting of persons from various religious backgrounds, including Parsi, Hindu, Christian and others.
Frontier Foundation Hematology Services, Chairman Sahibzada Muhammad Haleem, Administrator Dr Fakhar Zaman and other staff members welcomed the delegation.The delegation visited various sections of the Frontier Hospital, including thalassemia and haemophilia wards, modern laboratory and blood bank.
The members of the US team also met with patients suffering from thalassemia, haemophilia and other blood-related diseases.Frontier Foundation Administrator Dr Fakhar Zaman briefed the delegation about the activities including provision of free health and accommodation facilities and food and medicines being provided to patients.
He said that the Frontier Foundation would continue providing better treatment facilities to the thalassemia and other blood-related patients.He said that their organisation was holding workshops, walks, seminars and conferences but there was still a huge space to create awareness regarding the blood-related diseases.
He said that the genetic diseases like thalassemia, haemophilia and other blood-related disorders were spreading fast owing to the lack of awareness among the people.He said that their organisation was striving hard to control the thalassemia through awareness campaigns and provide treatment facilities to the patients suffering from the blood disorders.
The delegation praised the services of Frontier Foundation for the treatment of thalassemia and haemophilia patients.Jack Haye said that Frontier Foundation was fulfilling a noble cause by serving humanity, particularly the thalassemia patients.
He said that the US delegation would help in fundraising for the foundation to better serve the patients suffering from fatal diseases.Later, a reception was hosted in the honour of the US delegation and also the members were given souvenirs.
