Traders refuse to sell chicken at official rates

LAHORE:The prices of almost all essential vegetables and fruits registered an upwards trend while the provincial information minister claimed reduction in the prices of perishable items due to the policies of the government.

Reduction in the poultry rates is observed only in a rate list while nowhere in the city it was sold at official rates. The chicken meat sellers refused to sell at official rates. Additionally, the provincial government has also completely failed to implement the official rate lists. This week price of chicken was reduced by Rs74 per kg, fixed at Rs395-410 per kg, sold at Rs450-460 per kg, and chicken meat by Rs104 per kg, fixed Rs595 per kg, and sold Rs650-1200 per kg.

The price of potato soft skin further gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs70-75 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs60-65 per kg, and C-grade at Rs45-50 per kilogram, mixed sold at Rs80 per kg. The price of onion A-grade unchanged at Rs130–135 per kg, sold at Rs160-180 per kg, B-grade at Rs120-125 per kg, sold at Rs130-140 per kg, and C-grade fixed at Rs105-110 per kg, sold at sold at Rs120 per kg. The price of tomato A-grade further reduced by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs70-75 per kg, sold at Rs120-150 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs60-65 per kg, and C-grade at Rs50-55 per kg, mixed sold at Rs100 per kg.

The price of garlic local was further gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs265-275 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg, and Garlic China by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs630-650 per kg, sold at Rs800-1000 per kg, Garlic Harnai by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs460-480 per kg, sold at Rs600-650 per kg. The price of Ginger Thai reduced by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs575-595 per kg, and Ginger Chinese gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs555-575 per kg, both sold at Rs800 per kg.

Cucumber Farm gained by Rs14 per kg, fixed at Rs40-44 per kg, sold at Rs60-80 per kg, and cucumber local was fixed at Rs38-40 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg. Brinjal price was further gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed Rs90-95 per kg, sold at Rs160 per kg.

Biter gourd price reduced by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs100-105 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg. The price Spinach farm further gained by Rs3 per kg, fixed at Rs33-35 at Rs80-100 per kg.

Zucchini local was unchanged at Rs210-220 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg, Zucchini farm further gained by Rs26 per kg, fixed at Rs67-70 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg, and Zucchini long by Rs17 per kg, fixed at Rs57-60 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg. The price of lemon China further gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs200-210 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg, lemon by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs390-410 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg.

Pumpkin was reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs90-95 per kg, sold at Rs150-160 per kg. Green chili price A-grade increased by Rs4 per kg, fixed at Rs90-94 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs57-60 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg. Capsicum price was further reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs120-150 per kg. Price of cauliflower was further gained by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs86-90 per kg, sold at Rs130-160 per kg, cabbage reduced by Rs4 per kg, fixed at Rs38-40 per kg, sold Rs100-120 per kg.

Carrot Chinese unchanged at Rs50-53 per kg, sold at Rs160-200 per kg. Arum was further gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs200-210 per kg, sold at Rs350 per kg. ­
