PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department on Friday suspended Director General of Health and Services, Dr Shaukat Ali.
An inquiry was initiated against him as he was accused of taking bribes for the transfer of a clinical technician. He will remain suspended till the completion of the inquiry.
The Health Department in the statement said that clinical technician (Cardiology) Irum Noreen had leveled the allegations against the DG Health and Services relating to her transfer from DHQ Teaching Hospital Bannu to Medical Teaching Institute (MTI) Hospital- Mufti Mahmood Memorial Hospital Dera Ismail Khan.
The clinical technician in her application to the high-ups, had stated that despite the fact that she had obtained No- Objection Certificate she was not able to get transferred to MTI DI Khan.An official of the Health Department said the lady technician had fulfilled all legal requirements for her transfer but even then the DG Health Office refused to issue her transfer orders.
