Workshop on ‘Project Management’ ends

LAHORE: The Executive Development Institute (EDI) of the National School of Public Policy (NSPP) Lahore held a two-day training workshop on ‘Project Management’ from April 25 to 26.

Dean EDI Ahmad Nazir Warraich while inaugurating the session, gave a brief introduction of National School of Public Policy and EDI. He emphasised the need to hold a training workshop on project management to acquire up-to-date knowledge of the processes of project management from the initiation of a concept to its closure. The Executive Development Institute had designed the course in consultation with subject specialists.

Thirty participants from public, private and social sectors representing the federal government, provincial government of Punjab and KPK, Civil Aviation Authority, Wapda, Education Sector, The Urban Unit, Nespak, Quaid-e-Awam University, FCCI, MCB and University of Lahore joined the workshop.

During the training, the speakers discussed various aspects of project management, including fundamental concepts and definitions, risk assessment and stakeholder engagement strategies, ensuring long-term project sustainability, comprehensive project planning and scheduling techniques, effective project execution methodologies, as well as contract administration and dispute resolution best practices.

Dr. Ali Hussain Kazim, Director, Automotive Engineering Centre, University of Engineering & Technology Lahore, Ahmad Nazir Warraich, Dean Executive Development Institute, Asif Rehman Babar, Director Construction Central Busisness District Punjab Lahore, Dr. Kamran Shams, CEO of Akhuwat-Interest Free Microfinance Organization, Lahore, and Hassan Hameed, Director La-Gestion Consultant, Lahore, were the key speakers.
