MARDAN: At least three workers, including district general secretary of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), were injured at a meeting arranged in connection with the 36th death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. The PPP Mardan chapter had arranged the meeting at the Mardan Press Club, but some issues cropped up that saw district president Sajjad Khan and general secretary Aurangzeb Khan scuffle with each other. It was learnt that Sajjad Khan had removed Aurangzeb Khan and made Sher Afghan Khan, former MPA, the general secretary. It infuriated Aurangzeb who scuffled with Sajjad Khan at the meeting. Aurangzeb was seriously injured while two other party workers sustained minor injuries in the scuffle. PPP divisional president Abdul Samad Khan, former provincial minister, and other senior leaders reached there and stopped them from quarreling. Sajjad and Aurangzeb left the meeting along with their respective groups. The party workers also dispersed due to mismanagement and the function was not held.
