Joint efforts to be made to reform health sector
LAHORE: Punjab Health and Emergency Services Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique Friday met with a delegation of National Centre for Healthcare Workers USA at the Department of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education.
The minister and members of the delegation discussed modern reforms to improve the health system, improvement of the nursing department and other issues including health cards. They agreed to make joint efforts to improve the health system.
The minister said reforms were being made for the improvement of the nursing sector and added advanced training would be given priority to improve the quality of nursing in Punjab. He said the government was improving the universal health insurance programme. Chairman National Centre for Healthcare Workers USA Shahab Tanveer appreciated the efforts of the minister to improve the health system.
Additional Secretary Nursing Usman Khalid, CEO Punjab Health Initiative Management Company Dr Ali Razzaq and Manager Monitoring and Evaluation PHIMC Hasnat Ahmed were also present on the occasion.
