People’s Bus Service to start in Mirpurkhas on Apr 20: Sharjeel
The Sindh transport department on Monday announced the commencement of the People's Bus Service in Mirpurkhas and the addition of two new routes to the Pink Bus Service in Karachi, starting from Friday, April 19.
Sindh Minister for Transport, Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Sharjeel Inam Memon convened a meeting in this regard in Karachi. Transport Secretary Asad Zamin and Sindh Mass Transit Authority MD Kamal Dayo were also present in the meeting. During the meeting, it was decided to add ten new buses to the Pink Bus Service.
Memon announced that the new routes of the Pink Bus Service would be inaugurated on April 19. Additionally, the People's Bus Service would commence for the people of Mirpurkhas from April 20, while a cashless automated Fare Collection Smart Card system would be launched from April 25.
He emphasised that the vision of the Pakistan Peoples Party leadership and the Sindh government was to provide affordable and comfortable bus services throughout Sindh. A robust transport network, he said, would not only create new employment opportunities but also promote economic activities in the region. Memon stressed that the launch of the People's Bus Service across Sindh would bring revolutionary relief to the people.
