UAE consul general spends Eid with senior citizens, cancer, thalassaemia patients

United Arab Emirates Consul General in Karachi Bakheet Ateeq Al-Remeithi observed Eidul Fitr in Karachi spreading colours of the Emirati and Pakistani cultures.

He hosted an Eid Milan Party to share the joys of Eid. A large number of consuls general in Karachi attended the party along with Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and senior leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan Dr Farooq Sattar and Nasreen Jalil.

Special tents were arranged for seating of guests to highlight the Arab culture. Another Eid party was organised at the UAE Consulate which was attended by people from different walks of life. The consul general also distributed Eidi among the children who attended the party.

Meanwhile, Al-Remeithi also visited the Aghosh Old Age Home along with his son during Eid. He distributed gifts among the people present at the old age home and spent time with them.

On the second day of Eid, the UAE consul general and his son Hamdan enquired after cancer patients undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Karachi. He said the UAE government was working in the health sector in Pakistan and it wanted international-level facilities to be available for the patients in Pakistan.

On the third day of Eid, Al-Remeithi and his son visited the Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation’s health facility. He mingled with the children suffering from thalassaemia at the centre and distributed gifts among them. The UAE consul general said it was good to share happiness on the day of Eid.
