Fire Fighter's Day observed
KARACHI: To honour fire-fighters on International Fire Fighter’s Day, Ufone conducted a fire drill on Wednesday at Ufone Tower in Blue Area of Islamabad in which 700 Ufone employees participated, a statement said.
It said May 4 of each year is observed as the International Firefighters’ Day to acknowledge the services of firefighters who dedicate their lives to the protection of life and property, risking the ultimate sacrifice of their lives.
Ufone CEO Rainer Rathgeber said that the drill would help the employees to deal with any untoward situation in future and also make the work of firefighters somewhat easier. He said: “The purpose of the drill was to comply with country’s Fire Code and to pay homage to the sacrifices of firefighters across the globe and acknowledging their sacrifices.”
