MANSEHRA: The police claimed to have arrested around 100 alleged drug pushers and seized a huge quantity of narcotics during a crackdown launched across the district last week.

“We have launched an initiative to make Mansehra a narcotics-fee earlier this month. Around 100 drug pushers were arrested and around 120 kg of charas, 6kgs of Ice and 2kgs of heroin were recovered,” District Police Officer Shafeeullah Gandapur told reporters here on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, the DPO presided over a meeting attended by the Assistant Superintendent of police, deputy superintendents of police and Station house officers of all 17 police stations, and reviewed the ongoing crackdown against narcotics peddlers in the district.

“Your stiff crackdown against narcotics peddlers has restored the confidence of people in police and this operation will continue with full might and dedication until our youngsters are free of the clutches of these anti-social elements,” Gandapur said.
