18 illegal properties sealed

LAHORE: On the instructions of Lahore Development Authority Director General Tahir Farooq, LDA teams sealed 18 properties by conducting an operation against commercialisation fee defaulters and illegal constructions in Muslim Town here on Monday.

Properties sealed included offices, private schools and other commercial buildings. The sealed properties had debts of crores of rupees. LDA staff also demolished structure on Plot No 70 Block A Muslim Town for illegal construction. Several notices were issued to the properties sold/disclosed.

Revamping of LDA enforcement wing ordered

The LDA DG chaired a meeting to discuss the revamping of the enforcement wing. He directed to revamp the LDA enforcement wing on priority basis and stressed its transformation into a uniformed force, with plans for upgrading machinery and providing necessary technical equipment. Vehicles, motorcycles, toolkits, and machinery were being provided to enhance the capacity of the enforcement wing, he added and maintained that further recruitment of staff was also under way to augment the existing workforce.

Tahir Farooq instructed to upgrade the office for the LDA enforcement wing located in Township. He emphasised the immediate provision of all essential resources to ensure the seamless functionality of the enforcement wing. Moreover, he directed that field operations should commence after the Eid holidays. Tahir Farooq highlighted the significance of the establishment of the LDA enforcement wing in facilitating timely interventions against illegal constructions and encroachments.
