Driver injured as Excise vehicle attacked

DI KHAN: Unidentified gunmen targeted officials from the Excise Department, resulting in injuries to a driver in Yarik area on Monday.
Inspector Ilyas from the Excise Department, accompanied by his driver, was on routine duty when their vehicle was fired at within the jurisdiction of Yarik Police Station.The offcial escaped unhurt but his driver, identified as Iftikhar, sustained injuries in the gunfire.
Upon receiving reports of the attack, law-enforcement agencies swiftly responded, deploying a significant police presence to the scene.A search operation was also launched and the area was cordoned off to prevent the perpetrators’ escape.
