KP cabinet okays Rs859.8m supplementary grants for TMAs
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet on Friday approved the provision of Rs859.8 million supplementary grant for the tehsil municipal administration (TMAs) in the settled and merged districts to pay salaries, pensions and previous liabilities.
An official communique said the funds were being provided for TMAs in 86 settled and 25 merged districts of the province. The cabinet also approved the upcoming administrative expenses for which formal concurrence would be given in the upcoming assembly session.
The 3rd meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur in which detailed deliberations were carried on provision of grant for Cadet College Spinkai in South Waziristan tribal district, supplementary grant for the TMAs, and approval of the signing of financial agreement between the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Unit.
Ali Amin Khan Gandapur directed the relevant quarters to come up with concrete proposals to get the provincial government rid of unnecessary liabilities, increase revenue through reforms, effective utilisation of government property and pragmatic steps to revise the lease policy for enhanced revenue generation.
He also directed the TMAs and Agriculture Department to increase market places (mandi) in every district of the province.
The cabinet also approved the provision of a special financial grant for Cadet College Spinkai, which will cater for the operational expenses of the college.
The college is currently providing quality education to students in South Waziristan where fees have been kept at a bare minimum keeping in view the low economic activity in the area and to provide quality education to maximum number of students.
The chief minister directed to undertake measures for provision of funds for scholarship to needy students and students with martyred parents of the Cadet Colleges of Spinkai and Wana.
