Officials directed to remove PTI leaders’ names from ECL
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Friday directed the officials concerned to remove the names of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Junaid Akbar and Mujahid Ali Khan from the Exit Control List (ECL).
A two-member bench consisting of Justice Shakeel Ahmad and Justice Syed Arshad Ali heard the petition. Syed Sikandar Shah Advocate appearing for the petitioners told the court that his clients contested the February 8 general elections successfully and were elected as MNAs. He said that the names of the two MNAs had been placed on the Exit Control List and the Provisional National Identification List. Director Legal of the Federal Investigation Agency told the court that the names of the two MNAs were placed on the Exit Control List and the Provisional National Identification List at the request of the provincial government.
