Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed has issued instructions for making special arrangements for the water supply and drainage throughout the city during Eidul Fitr.

In this regard, a letter was issued to the relevant authorities of the KWSC who were tasked with maintaining coordination with the district administration and elected public representatives on the Eid.

Effective measures for the supply and drainage of water would be taken around Eid gatherings, mosques, imambargahs, and schools throughout the city, the KWSC CEO said. He added that ensuring no sewage overflow on main roads and public places, especially around Eid gatherings, was essential to avoid any inconvenience for citizens and worshipers.

In addition to this, the CEO instructed the hydrants incharge to ensure provision of water tankers during the Eid to mosques, imambargahs and schools to fulfil their water needs.

All chief engineers and superintendent engineers have been directed to ensure uninterrupted water supply throughout the city and provide duty rosters to the staff during the general holidays of Eidul Fitr so that all executive engineers remained on high alert to handle any emergency situation.

The CEO told the executive engineers of the KWSC’s workshops that all machinery should be kept ready for the convenience of citizens, and the presence of drivers should be ensured to facilitate the operation of suction and jetting machines. He said no shortcomings would be tolerated in the arrangements for Eidul Fitr.
