LAHORE:Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman Thursday reiterated that the public welfare will remain priorities of the Punjab government and it will not leave them alone while fulfilling obligations to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
In a meeting with the representatives of the civil society here in his office, he said that the government is committed to decrease electricity bills by facilitating the provision of solar systems.
Rigorous efforts are also under way to combat inflation through a structured approach, alongside initiatives to bolster agricultural productivity to stabilise prices of agricultural goods. He said the government have only three months in the current financial year. In the budget of three months, the Punjab government tried to use the resources keeping in mind the people’s problems.
Ramazan Nigehban Package is reflection of these efforts. The public complaints regarding the package are the feedback of the people and people will not have to face these difficulties in the next Ramazan, he added. Prompt measures are being taken to address any grievances concerning the package to ensure a seamless experience for the populace during Ramazan.
