Boy commits suicide after refusal of cell phone request

LAHORE:A 12-year-old boy took his own life in the Mission Colony area of Raiwind City on Thursday. The incident occurred when the boy's mother reportedly refused to provide him with a cell phone.

The victim identified as Ayan had requested his mother for a cell phone. His mother declined his request and briefly left for a neighbour's house. On her return, she found her son hanging. Man stabs nephew over domestic issue A man stabbed his nephew to death over a domestic issue in Sandah police area on Thursday. The victim was identified as Umar, 25. The accused fled from the scene. The police shifted the body to the mortuary.

15 die in road accidents in 24 hours

The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,224 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. In these accidents, 15 people died, whereas 1,293 were injured. Out of these, 579 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 714 victims with minor injuries were treated on the spot by Rescue medical teams.

Six arrested over electricity theft

Liaqatabad Investigation police arrested six people who were wanted by the police in electricity theft cases. The accused were identified as Saeed, Zubair, Adnan, Asghar, Shahzad and Daniyal.

Prisoner dies in hospital

A 40-year-old prisoner expired in the hospital on Thursday, a few minutes after he went unconscious on the premises of Sessions Court, Islampura. The prisoner identified as Kashif was involved in a drug case. The body was removed to the morgue.

Man commits suicide

A 30-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself in Madina Town, Ghaziabad. Th victim was identified as Anees, son of Sanaullah. Police said that reason for the suicide was yet to be ascertained. The body was shifted to the morgue.

Rape suspect held

Nawab Town police arrested a man on charges of raping a six-year-old girl. The accused Rafaqat took the girl to his place and raped her.
