The incident of locking the courtroom of the district and sessions judge in Peshawar a few days ago by lawyers is condemnable. They reacted in this manner simply because a member of the legal fraternity was found guilty of misconduct and sent to jail by the judge.
Though lawyers had decided to end the boycott of courts after a local court suspended the conviction, the incident shows that the legal fraternity has crossed all limits of decency. The judiciary should take cognisance of this unlawful, criminal and disrespectful behaviour of lawyers. This act should not be allowed to go unnoticed.
