ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday ordered for arranging meeting of PTI founder with his wife Bushra Bibi on the occasion of Eidul Fitr. The petitions regarding the shifting of Bushra Bibi from Bani Gala to Adiala jail and her meeting with the PTI founder came up for hearing before single bench of the IHC led by justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb on Monday.

The court, while ordering for arranging meeting between PTI founder and his wife Bushra Bibi on the occasion of Eid and one day in a week, sought arguments on declaring private property as sub-jail.

Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, while expressing annoyance over Adiala jail administration and chief commissioner report for not shifting Bushra Bibi to Adiala jail and not arranging her meeting with the PTI founder, remarked: “It is all politics. You could not satisfy the court.”

He further remarked: “You people are hell bent upon reducing index of rule of law to zero.” The court remarked how can the government declare private property of any one as sub-jail.

The court, while summoning arguments on next hearing, adjourned the hearing of the case for indefinite period.

The state counsel said director law visited Bani Gala sub-jail under the order of court and he has issued report. The court directed the state counsel to provide copy of the report to petitioner, remarking has the officer who visited Bani Gala sub-jail become satisfied over facilities.

During the hearing of the case, Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, while moving to the state counsel, remarked 141 women entered after January 31 conviction. “You said that jail was overcrowded. You mean that there should be only politics,” he said.

The judge said: “On the one hand, it is being said space is less and prisoners are more, while on the other hand, 141 women were entered. When new women were sent into jail, then there was no justification for not shifting Bushra Bibi.”

Later, the court, while ordering to arrange meeting of PTI founder with his wife Bushra Bibi adjourned the hearing of case for indefinite time.
