172 SIs promoted to inspectors

LAHORE: Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has promoted 172 sub-inspectors to the post of inspectors.

A meeting of the Promotion Board was held under the chairmanship of Additional IG Establishment Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, in which senior officers including DIG Establishment I, Suleman Sultan Rana, DIG Establishment II, Captain (R) Malik Liaquat and DIG Headquarters Humayun Bashir Tarar participated.

In the promotion board meeting, the cases of more than 400 sub-inspectors from across the province were considered, 172 sub-inspectors who met the merit and rules were promoted to the rank of inspectors.

Additional IG Establishment Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry has issued a notification for the promotion of 172 officers to the post of inspectors. A spokesman for the Punjab police said that during the appointment of IG Dr Usman Anwar, more than 20 thousand officers and personnel have been promoted so far and according to merit and seniority, the series of promotions will continue in the future.

The IG while congratulating the promoted inspectors directed them to perform their duties diligently. Those promoted include 12 officers from Lahore, 50 from Rawalpindi, 35 from Sahiwal, 18 from Sheikhupura, 16 from DG Khan, nine from Gujranwala, nine from Multan, seven from Faisalabad, six from Bahawalpur, four from Sargodha and two from Gujrat.
