SC decision to restore 50pc private Haj quota lauded
From Our Correspondent
FAISALABAD: Haj Operators Association Punjab chairman Hafiz Muhammad Shafiq Kashif has said that the Supreme Court’s decision of restoration of 50 per cent Haj quota for private Haj organisers is the victory of the private Haj operators.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, HOAP Punjab chairman Shafiq Kashif said that the Religious Affairs Minister totally rejected the recommendations of the Standing Committee on the National Assembly and approved the new Haj policy for the year 2016. He asked the Ministry of Religious Affairs to take all the stakeholders, including the private Haj organisers, on board and chalked out a viable Haj policy for 2016 with consensus. He said that the private Haj operators were still ready to provide the cheapest Haj package to the intending pilgrims. He asked the ministry to make new Haj policy for 2016 after taking all the stakeholders in confidence.
