Rawalpindi: The offices of Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) does not respond on 1199 emergency helpline printed on every gas bill.

The residents of Kartarpura and Kohati bazaar are facing worst disruption of gas supply during Ramazan. They complained that they are receiving gas with water mix and facing sudden shut down of gas supply and water starts oozing out from the gas pipeline.

A resident Sheikh Waqar Ahmad made a complaint on 1199 emergency helpline on 15/3/2024 and then reminded them on 20/3/2024 and 3rd reminder on 21/3/2024. The operator told him that they had referred his complaint to Maintenance Department and they would solve his problem but despite passage of several days no team visited his locality. The problem still persists and no one ready to address this problem.

Another resident Mirza Tipu said, “Gas disruption makes his life very difficult as they cannot cook or prepare ‘Sehri’ or ‘Iftari’ properly. We used to call plumber who sucked water and heavily charged labour. But no official of SNGP visit our locality.”

The residents appeal to high-ups to look into this matter and help in solving supply of gas problems for the residents of streets of Kartarpura and Kohati Bazaar as they are facing extreme problems in Sehri and Iftar hours. They said that they are paying heavy bills but disruption in gas supply multiply their problems.
