Turkish delegation calls on PA speaker

LAHORE: The Ambassador of Turkiye Dr Mehmet Paçac along with his delegation called on Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan at the Assembly Chamber here on Monday.

Mutual interests and parliamentary affairs were discussed during the meeting and it was agreed to collaborate in various fields, including trade, investment, education, and culture. The delegation included Consul General Turkiye Durmus Bastug, Trade Counselor Nooruddin and Director to the Ambassador Ghazanfar Mahmood.

PA speaker said that the exchange of parliamentary delegations, economic cooperation and people-to-people contacts can further strengthen the decades-old friendship and love between Pakistan and Turkiye. He said that Pakistan offers excellent investment opportunities for Turkish businessmen.

He emphasised the need for mutual cooperation between Turkiye and Pakistan for progress in various sectors. “Both countries are bound by historical ties of shared religion and culture and stand by each other in every difficult time”.

PA speaker praised Turkiye's efforts in the reconstruction after the devastating earthquakes. Dr Mehmet Paçac congratulated Malik M Ahmad Khan on being elected as Speaker of the Punjab Assembly.

He said that Turkiye viewed all developments and reforms in all sectors of Pakistan's life with great interest. PA speaker presented a picture of the assembly building and gifts to Dr Mehmet Paçac on this occasion. Additional Secretary Malik Khalil Ahmed, Staff Officer Imad Hussain Bhalli, and Punjab Assembly spokesperson Rao Majid Ali were also present on this occasion.
