Robber arrested, stolen goods recovered

MANSEHRA: The police claimed to have arrested the ringleader of an inter-provincial gang of robbers and seized stolen goods, gold ornaments, vehicles, cattle herds and cash from their possession.

“We held the ringleader of the gang of robbers. And raids are underway to arrest the rest of gangsters,” Bilal Ahmad, the superintendent of police (Central), told reporters on Thursday.Flanked by the deputy superintendent of police, Pakhal Circle, Arshad Khan and SHO Khaki Israr Khan, he said District Police Officer Zahoor Babar Afridi had constituted a team to bust the gang.

“We have rounded up the ringleader Dost Mohammad and more gangsters will be arrested and taken to justice soon,” Bilal Ahmad said.

He said the three masked men had entered a house on March 15 by scaling the boundary-wall. They had locked the inmates in a room and decamped with gold, mobile phones, cash and other valuables, he added. Meanwhile, District Police Officer Zahoor Babar Afridi ordered the reshuffling of the station-house-officers (SHOs) of all 17 police stations in the district.
