Appellate tribunals for by-polls notified

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday appointed the appellate tribunals for the disposal of appeals against the decisions of the returning officers regarding the rejection or acceptance of the nomination papers of candidates for by-polls in 23 NA and PA constituencies.

The notification has been issued in pursuance of sub-section (1) of Section 63 of the Elections Act, 2017 (Act No. XXXIll of 2017). In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Justice Muhammad Naeem Anwar of the Peshawar High Court, Mingora Bench (Dar-ul-Qaza), Swat has been appointed for the NA-8 Bajaur and PK-22 Bajaur-lV, whereas Justice Shakeel Ahmad, (Principal Seat PHC, Peshawar) for PK-91 Kohat-ll and Justice Fazal Subhan of the Peshawar High Court, Dl Khan Bench has been appointed for the NA-44 Dera lsmail Khan-l.

In Punjab, Justice Shahid Karim (Principal Seat, Lahore) has been notified for NA-119 Lahore-lll, NA-132 Kasur-ll, PP-32 Gujrat-Vl, PP-36 Wazirabad-ll, PP-54 Narowal-l, PP-139 Sheikhupura-lV, PP-147 Lahore-lll, PP-149 Lahore-V, PP-158 Lahore-XlV, PP-164 Lahore-XX, while Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar of the Lahore High Court, Multan Bench for the PP-93 Bhakkar-V and PP-290 DG Khan-V, Justice Ahmad Nadeem Arshad of the Lahore High Court, Bahawalpur Bench has been appointed for the PP-266 Rahim Yar Khan-Xll and Justice Mirza Viqas Rauf of the Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi Bench for the PP-22 Chakwal-cum-Talagang.

In Sindh, Justice Shamsuddin Abbasi of the Sindh High Court has been notified for the NA-196 Kambar Shahdadkot-l, NA-207 Shaheed Benazirabad-l and PS-80 Dadu-l. Similarly, in Balochistan, Justice Muhammad Aamir Nawaz Rana of Balochistan High Court has been appointed for PB-20 Khuzdar-lll and PB-22 Lasbela.
