LAHORE: Punjab Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar Thursday suspended three sports officials on charges of demonstrating negligence and carelessness during duty hours.
The minister suspended Kasur district sports officer Nadeem Rana, Tehsil Chunian sports officer Usman Taj and junior clerk Adeelur Rehman. Talking to reporters, the minister said there would be no compromise on the provision of sports facilities to people.
He asked to Secretary Sports and DG Sports to conduct a survey on the condition of all facilities in Punjab. He said all officers should perform their duties honestly otherwise strict action would be initiated against them.
Earlier, the minister visited Kasur and expressed anger on seeing an incomplete sports gymnasium for years. He directed the officers concerned to provide details of all pending sports buildings in Punjab. He also called a meeting of legal wing officers on Friday on pending buildings. During his visit Khokhar reviewed the facilities at Roshan Bheela stadium, under construction E-Library, Bangla Kamboh Cricket Stadium, Gymnasium Hall, hockey, football and cricket grounds.
