The biggest challenge for Pakistan is not its public debt, water shortage, food scarcity or lack of exports but its exploding population. Now that the PML-N has formed the government, under the leadership of Shehbaz Sharif, he should appoint a high-powered committee to explore how the unsustainable rate of population growth can be brought down.
The high-powered committee should study how other countries have controlled their population growth rate. Concurrently, all stakeholders should be taken on board to come up with practical solutions to solve the country's population problem.
