WCLA holds photo walk in Shalimar Garden
LAHORE : Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) organised a photo walk in Shalimar Garden on Saturday in which around 300 photographers participated and toured different parts of Garden. The purpose of the photo walk was to bring different parts of Shalimar Garden and historical buildings where the renovation work was being carried out by WCLA to public view.
In this photo walk, historical buildings of Shalimar Garden such as Arz Begi, Fountains, Shahi Hamam, Watch Tower, Queen's Bedroom, Naqar Khana, Bara Dari, Daulat Khana a Khas o Aam, Sawan Bhadon Pavilion and King's Khawbgah toured. Each of these buildings has its own unique identity in history, said an official of WCLA.
At the end of the tour, a wonderful musical performance and drum circle was organised. 250 people participated in the drum circle and enjoyed the performance very much. The participants appreciated the efforts of Walled City of Lahore Authority and welcomed the organisation of such activities in the future. WCLA DG Kamran Lashari said that such activities were of significant importance for the promotion of historical buildings and tourism and the Walled City Authority was working day and night to achieve this important goal.
